Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of this website. Reading a page, using a search feature, or otherwise continuing on the site signifies agreement with all terms below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a federal, Missouri, or Scott County government body. Neither the website nor its advertising partners provides a service designed for employment, credit, insurance, tenant, or other screening governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps visitors locate official criminal-record channels in Scott County, Missouri. It is neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not hold official files, obtain records for visitors, perform official background checks, or submit documents on anyone's behalf.

Its purpose is to identify the Scott County Sheriff, the courts of the 33rd Judicial Circuit, the Missouri State Highway Patrol central repository, the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, and relevant third-party research tools. Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs access to covered government records, and section 43.506 RSMo addresses criminal-history reporting to the central repository. Neither law makes this private website an official custodian.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or similar automated means on these pages
  • Violate any applicable local, Missouri, or federal law
  • Interfere with website performance or another visitor's access
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass a person
  • Rely on site content for housing, employment, credit, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No visitor may use information from this website or a linked tool to threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Registry data demands particular care. Missouri law makes it illegal to use Missouri Sex Offender Registry information to facilitate a crime. The registry supports public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produce no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Our advertising partners do not provide site services intended to evaluate rental applications, applicants for work, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. You agree not to use this website or a linked tool to:

  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Determine access to a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Evaluate a renter or other housing applicant
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

For a legally permitted screening need, obtain the appropriate official Missouri State Highway Patrol product or work with a provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The website supplies general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Scott County warrant, conviction, charge, or Missouri expungement law affects a particular person. Consult a Missouri-licensed attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • A partner search result will be complete or correct
  • The website will operate continuously without interruption
  • Any page is free from defects, security weaknesses, or bugs
  • Information is always current, complete, or accurate

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may later be corrected, closed, or expunged. Updates can create unavoidable gaps. No website content is an official statement from the Scott County Sheriff, a court, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to court portals, sheriff pages, Missouri agencies, legal-aid organizations, and outside search companies. Those destinations are beyond our control. We are not responsible for their availability, content, charges, or data practices. Review the destination's terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Scott County Criminal History or its content partners own the website's text, logos, graphics, and code. Written permission is required before copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we accept no liability for damages arising from website use, including reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your website use or violation of these terms, including related legal expenses.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms, including applicable Missouri consumer protections such as sections 407.010 through 407.130 RSMo. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision becomes effective when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected language will be narrowed only as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
